Falling into Autumn

Hello friends!

Well it's officially fall! The leaves start changing colour, the weather gets a little bit cooler and the days grow shorter. With all that inspiration it's easy to grab a hot cup of tea and just create a little something special. Or hot chocolate as Megan would say. Mmmm... now I could go for a mug of hot chocolate.

Megan and I wanted to share a bunch of cards with you that we've made lately. Up first we have a card I made for my cousin's little boy who was celebrating his third birthday earlier this month.

Malachi is a little cutie pie who loves trucks and machines. What a boy! I found this truck paper that had a coordinating gear patterned paper. I love the bright colours that make this a really fun card for an energetic 3 year old.

Next, Malachi's baby sister Preslee was also celebrating a birthday this month. Little Preslee turned ONE!! And everyone knows that turning ONE is a big deal and deserves a special card!

Her mom told me that they were having a ladybug themed party so in keeping with the theme I made a cute lady bug card. I had fun heat embossing the letters for her name and adding that little bit of sparkle to some of the polka dots.

So as you can see we've been up to some fun stuff! I wanted to share another card with you all. It's one of my personal favorites.

Megan made this card last weekend with some new My Mind's Eye paper that we've fallen in love with. The colours are gorgeous!! And I love the placement of the flowers! Notice all the rounded corners too.... Megan LOVES rounding her corners - no joke! She says it softens things up. It does have a lovely effect on this card I will admit!

Moving along, a friend of mine asked me to make a custom baby card for her. I had just gotten some new washi tape and needed to try them. So check it out and let me know whatcha think!

I loved making this card. It's got the bright, girly pink flower and stripes and the polka dot paper is just so cute!! I love polka dots!! And my friend took this beautiful picture of the card for me! Makes it even more special!

Well thanks for stopping by today! Megan and I are signing off to try out the Cricut machine for the first time!! Oh the possibilities!

Better Together

Hey Blogland Friends,

Tonight I was trying to think of what to write about and I saw the words "Better Together" on an email I received. Like all my beautiful papers inspire me to make cards... those two words inspired me too. I started thinking of things that are better together or at least make something extraordinary. Peanut butter and jelly for example. Chocolate... okay that one is really, really good on it's own... haha... but it makes some great combos - chocolate & mint, chocolate & strawberries,... okay who's hungry??

Okay other things that are better together... well some people are better together. I mean, two people are better together when they bring out the best in each other. AWWW... I know, now I'm just getting too lovey. Moving along, some colours are better together. Like pink and green... love them together. Or red, black and white. Just a few examples.

Another example of things that are better together... cards & people. Cards alone can be beautiful and special; a person alone can be beautiful and special as well. But think of what happens when you see one of those special people looking at a beautiful card they've just received. Definitely two things that are better together. Okay so maybe that was a plug for our cards... haha.. but in reality we make cards to bring smiles to people and to make them feel appreciated and special. What I am ultimately suggesting is that you show appreciation and a little love to someone who makes you a little better. Someone who, when you get together, inspires you, challenges you, encourages you.

Here are a couple cards that Meg and I made, inspired by those who make us a little bit better.

Thanks for stopping by!! Feel free to leave a comment to say hello!

Birthday Bliss

Well it's that time of year again. School's back in session. And so is our blog. The summer was very fun! And Megan and I took many opportunities to get together and make some new cards so we hope to be posting on here more often to share some of our creations.

Last month, August, I celebrated my birthday. And then celebrated it again. And again. Okay so I was spoiled - I like to say that I was loved-on. Through surprise gatherings, beautiful cards and kind words, through little surprises and lots of hugs. I love hugs!! haha. Anyways, it was while looking through the cards I received that I noticed how the cards that meant the most to me were the ones where someone had taken time to make them or to write a personal message specifically for me. So thoughtful!!

I have to tell you one little story. One of my friends, who is not crafty in the least and has no desire to be AT ALL, handmade me a card!! She cut out pieces of paper to make different designs and patterns and also cut out little pictures (and I mean like fussy cut them out so perfect I thought they were stickers). It brought a smile to my face, warmth in my heart and definitely a tear to my eye. I will treasure it always!

Also during August I was asked to make a couple of birthday cards for a friend to give to her neices. I tried to make them different, girly and cute! With a little sparkle of course. Check out the photos below of the two cards - and notice my friends' amazing photography skills!

Thanks for stopping by to check us out! And let us know if we can make a special card for someone special in your life!! We'd love to!
